Full Obituary

     SHERRI A. HUGHES, age 41, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, WI, on Monday, November 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp.  Rev. Bill Beaton will officiate and burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Casey Gerber, Matt Gerber, Tyler Hughes, Shawn Hughes, Chris Grajkowski, and Ben Smasal.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Tuesday, from 4-8pm and again on Wednesday, from 9am until time of service.
    Sherri Ann Grajkowski was born on November 22, 1980 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Matthew D. and Mary Lynn (Mayenschein) Grajkowski.  She was raised on the family farm, and received her education at Thorp Area Schools , graduating from Thorp High School in 1999.  After graduation, Sherri worked as a waitress at Harley's in Stanley, saving up enough money to buy her first car.  She was united in marriage to Andrew V. Hughes on August 28, 2004 at the Stanley United Methodist Church in Stanley.  Sherri continued to waitress at Meadowview Golf Course, in Owen and later at Mesquite Bar & Grill in Thorp.  In 2006, Sherri started her own in-home daycare until she started Sherri's Little Zoo Daycare in Thorp in 2012, where she raised numerous kids while their parents went to work.  Since 2016, Sherri has worked for the Stanley-Boyd School District as a teacher’s aide. 
   She was a 4-H Mom, co-chaired the Thorp City Wide Thrift Sales, volunteered at Thorp Schools, where she served as Middle School Cross Country Coach, was an avid scrapbooker, and enjoyed watching Andy and the boys at tractor pulls. She especially enjoyed going on vacations with her parents, Andy, & the kids with their trip to Yellowstone National Park as her all-time favorite.  
    Sherri is survived by her husband Andy of Thorp; her 3 children: Shawn, Tyler, and Lyla all of Thorp; her parents: Matt & Mary Lynn Grajkowski of Thorp; her brother: Chris Grajkowski (Heather Dickens) of Thorp; her step mother-in-law: Sharon Hughes of Gilman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
