DENNIS L. FRAVERT, age 70, of Loyal, WI, passed away at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield, WI, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. A Celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Loyal American Legion from 11am until 4pm.
Dennis Lee Fravert was born on September 28, 1946 in Greenwood, WI, the son of Alvin J. and Eveline E. (Stange) Fravert. He was raised and received his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1964. After high school, Dennis was a sanitation worker for Lloyd Brothers, in Wausau, WI. Dennis was united in marriage to Suzanne C. Braun on October 2, 1965 in Greenwood, WI. He became employed with the Clark County Highway Department, where he worked as a patrolman for Clark County for 38 years, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal, and was a member of the church's Dartball team.
Dennis had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved bowling, which he did for 52 years. For 35 years he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sue, out west to Wyoming. Dennis spent the majority of his hunting season in Burgess Junction, WY, hunting with his friends, Doc and Praze, who are now hunting with Dennis in the Big Sky. During these years, he has also hunted with his dear friends, Keith and Cyndi Johnson, and got to hunt with them one last time, in a hunt of a lifetime in Montana, with his son, Timothy, beside him.
He was a man who helped many in his community, offering a helping hand when needed. Dennis enjoyed plowing snow for neighbors and friends with his 4-wheeler, (like a kid with a new toy).
Dennis will be dearly missed by his wife, Sue, of Loyal; three children: Annette (Dave) Mavis of Greenwood, WI, Timothy Fravert of Loyal, Donald (Lisa) Fravert of Withee, WI; ten grandchildren: Cordaro (Lena) Mavis, Ashley (Dustin) Charneski, Nick (Brooke) Mavis, Christopher Fravert, Tyler (Mikala) Fravert, Tressa Braun-Fravert, David Payne, Sabrina (Jamie) Post, Rebecca (Josh) Fravert, Kaden Martens; seven great-grandchildren: Grayson and Declan Mavis, Keegan, Preston and Ava Charneski, Lucas and Adilynn Fravert; two brothers: Dale (Angie) Fravert of Loyal, Marlin (Barb) Fravert of Fort Worth, TX; one sister: Karen (Kenneth) Boehnen of Spencer, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
