Full Obituary

RUTH A. MARESCH, age 85, of Willard, WI passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A private celebration of Ruth's life will be held at a later date.
Ruth Ann Hovland was born on August 20, 1931 in Janesville, WI to Melvin and Gladys (Schumacher) Hovland. She was raised and educated in the Janesville area and later moved to Beloit with her family. Ruth was united in marriage to Bruce R. Maresch on June 11, 1949. She worked for several years at the Freeman Shoe Company and retired when they closed the factory down in the mid 1970's. One of her proudest moments was when she took classes to receive her GED in her late 40's. After retirement, Ruth moved to Rock Dam in Willard, WI where she enjoyed playing cribbage and occasionally going to the casino. In recent years, Ruth enjoyed the solitude Rock Dam had to offer.
Ruth is survived by 2 daughters: Georgana Cruse of Willard and Carol (Dan) Baer of Beloit; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 daughter-in-law: Kathy Maresch of Eau Claire; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Bruce R. Maresch on June 15, 2016 and her son: Darryl Maresch.
