Full Obituary

JENNIE C. CLERF, age 103, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Miller Alternative Care, in Thorp, on Monday, February 20, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Thorp Funeral Home. Pastor Kenneth Schmidt will officiate and burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Stanley, WI. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home, on Saturday, from 9:30am unti time of service.
Jennie Caroline Engebretson was born on July 31, 1913 in rural Thorp, WI, to John and Klara (Olson) Engebretson. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in area schools. Jennie was united in marriage to Mike Clerf on April 14, 1941 in Galesville, WI. Afterwards, they owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Worden for many years.
Jennie loved animals, reading, and music. She sang, played the piano, and harmonica, all of her life.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a loving, supportive community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike, on June 26, 2003; and two sisters: Mary Kolpien and Carrie Paulson.
