DENNIS A. LABODA, age 72, of Thorp, WI, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Burial of cremains will take place in St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Cemetery, in Lublin, at a later date. There will be no services held.
Dennis Alan Laboda was born on March 29, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the son of John S. and Bernice (Sliva) Laboda. He was raised and received his education in the Chicago area, graduating from Fenton High School in Bensenville, IL in 1962. He then attended UW-Whitewater for 2 years before being drafted into the U.S. Army and serving during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, Dennis returned to Bensenville and worked at his father's foundry, Perm-Sand Industries, in which he later became a part owner. In 1977, he moved to Thorp, where he purchased his maternal grandparents farm. Dennis worked for several years at Weather Shield, in Greenwood, WI, until his retirement.
He had many interests, but especially loved his cats, woodworking, gardening and being outdoors.
Dennis is survived by his mother: Bernice Laboda of LaMoille, IL; 3 brothers: Ron (Judy) Laboda of Cummings, GA, Melvin Laboda of LaMoille, IL, Ray (Lynn) Laboda of Princeton, IL; one sister: Diane Laboda of LaMoille, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
