Full Obituary
MICHAEL “MIKE” J. SCHRADER, age 64, of Thorp, WI, formerly of Loyal, WI peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Oakbrook Health and Rehab Center, in Thorp. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Michael John Schrader was born on February 14, 1952 in Marshfield, WI, the son of the late Marvin John Sr. and Margaret Hanna Adella (Poppy) Schrader. In 1955, the Schrader family moved to Sturgis, MI, where Mike received his education. In 1987, Mike and his mother relocated to Riplinger, WI, where they lived until 1995. Mike and his mother then moved to Loyal, WI. Upon the death of his mother on January 26, 2016, Mike moved to Thorp, WI.
He had many interests including, singing, dancing and his favorite: putting models together. These included cars, trucks, ships and buildings. He accumulated literally dozens of models and was proud and happy to show anyone and everyone who visited them.
Mike was a loving, caring and humble man, known for his gentle attitude, big contagious smiles, and his contemplative look that at times made you wonder what he was thinking behind that big smile. Mike never married.
He is survived by one brother: “Bro” Marv Schrader of McFarland, WI; two sisters: Carol Margaret Steiner of Weidman, MI, Marie Ann Frohriep-Grams of Sparta, MI; nieces: Abi (Jeremy) Flora and Kristi (Chad) Nettrouer, both of Bremen, IN, Jennifer Mobley of Ontario, IN, Christina (Bob) Baker of Ossian, IN, Jennifer (Bill) Klein of Weidman, MI; nephews: Dane Schrader of Oregon, WI, Jordan (Angela) Schrader of Bellevue, WI, Brian Mobley of Chicago, IL, Allen Frohriep of Sturgis, MI, Jonathon (Brooke) Steiner of Mecosta, MI, Jason Steiner of Iron, MI, two brothers-in-law: Jeff Mobley of Ontario, IN, Larry Frohriep of Sturgis MI; one aunt: Irene Peterson of Owen, WI; one uncle: Ron (Joan) Pechmann of Wauwatosa, WI; many cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Margaret; one sister: Barbara Jean Mobley; one nephew: Scotty Frohriep; and close special family friend, Warren Sweet.
