Visitation will also be held at the church, on Friday, from 9:30am until time of service.
Clarence Chester Nowobielski was born on January 18, 1925 in the Town of Withee, rural Thorp, to Andrew and Catherine (Wnek) Nowobielski. He was raised on the family farm, received his elementary education at Pozen School, and graduated from Thorp High School in 1943. With his formal education finished, Clarence entered his farming career, except for a six-month stint at a produce trucking company in Chicago. When he came home it was to be united in marriage to Eloise V. Szerlong on November 11, 1951 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp.
His passion was farming. Not long after marrying, Clarence and Eloise purchased his parents farm, and he worked it industriously right up to his death. He had many interests including hunting, fishing, polka dancing and picking mushrooms. The family enjoyed it when dad pulled out the concertina and played a polka. But he always returned to his farm doings, riding his ATV around the farm, working on or fixing his tractors, and chopping wood in the fall.
Clarence was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society as well as the Polish Choir, a member of the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #4634, a former member of the ASCS Committee of Clark County, and a former Supervisor for the Town of Withee.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise, of Thorp; 7 children: Clara Meier of Ogema, WI, Ed (Elizabeth) of Thorp, John (Patricia) of Thorp, Judy (Jody) Conner of Neillsville, Francis of Thorp, Pat (Duane) Jarocki of Withee, Jerry (Erika) of Boyd; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 siblings: Henry (Colleen) Nowobielski, Chris Niedzwiecki, and Joan (Jerry) Rademaker, all of Thorp; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Joseph and Leon Nowobielski; and 2 sisters: Frances Larkowski and Marie Baginski.
