Full Obituary

LARRY W. SOWLE, age 68, of Greenwood, WI, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 8, 2016. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Willard, WI, on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2pm, with Rev. Steve Brice officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Greenwood American Legion Post #238. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 1pm until time of service.
Larry William Sowle was born on May 21, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI, to Gerald M. and Jeanette A. (Tralmer) Sowle. He was raised in Milwaukee, and attended St. Albert's Catholic School, Edison Junior High School and Custer High School. After completing his education, Larry enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 31, 1964 and served until his honorable discharge on March 3, 1966. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Carl on October 20, 1984 at Florist Avenue Lutheran Church, in Milwaukee, WI. Larry was a truck driver for Yellow Freight until retiring in 2003 after 27 years with the company.
He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post #238, and had many interests, but especially enjoyed: hunting, playing cards, watching Westerns on TV, having a beer or two, and golfing.
Larry will be dearly missed by his wife, Patty, of Greenwood; one son: Alex Sowle (Amy Lund) of Menomonie; 2 daughters from an earlier marriage: Tami Sowle and Amy Boehringer, both of Brookfield, WI; 3 grandchildren: Jaden, Kayla and Jonathon; 2 brothers: Dennis (Vicki) Sowle of Sussex, WI, Terry (Colleen) Sowle of Menomonee Falls, WI; one sister: Dawn (Jeff) Mallette of Monument, CO; one brother-in-law: Michael Dueno of Cedarburg, WI; Lifelong Friends: Lynn (Linda) Halboth of Delafield, WI; his Godchild: Justin Michael Halboth; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Sandy Dueno.
