Full Obituary

     BETTY J. MROTEK, age 71, of Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, passed away at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield, on Sunday, August 2, 2015.  A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal, with Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiating.  Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, in Marshfield, at a later date.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 12:30pm until time of service.
     Betty Jane Elizabeth Quam was born on June 11, 1944 in Poynette, WI, the only daughter of Gilbert N. and Mildred L. (nee Giese) Quam.  Her family moved to Lodi, WI, where she was raised and received her education, graduating from Lodi High School in 1962.  Betty then attended U-W Platteville before her marriage to Gerald R. Mrotek on August 13, 1965 in Madison.  Throughout her life, she held various jobs, including, working at Marigold in Winona, MN and teaching music in Ithaca, WI,  In 1970, they moved to Loyal where she worked at American Family Insurance, was the secretary for Trinity Lutheran Church, and worked as a proofreader at the TRG in Loyal.
     She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in the TLCW and directed the church choir, a member of the Live & Learn Homemakers Club, a member of the Hobo Band, and was a Cub Scouts Den Mother.
     Betty had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, counted cross-stitch, collecting mice, bird and frog figurines, music, cats, growing flowers, gardening, and macrame.
     She will be dearly missed by her husband, Gerald, of Marshfield;  her 2 children:  Erik (Vickie) Mrotek of Wausau,  Lori (Tom) Rentmeester of Marshfield;  4 grandchildren:  Olivia, Elena, Elizabeth and Christina, one brother:  Gerald (Jane) Quam of Lodi,  brothers-in-law:  James (Karen) Mrotek of Stevens Point, Daniel (Ginger) Mrotek of Arpin; 2 nephews and 4 nieces, other relatives and many friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother:  James Quam.
