Full Obituary

DONNA F. MCFARLANE, age 84, of Willard, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 16, 2015.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 4pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Willard, with Rev. Steve Brice officiating.  Interment will take place at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Spooner, WI, at a later date.
     Donna Faye Duffy was born on May 11, 1930 in Riceville, Iowa, to Charles and Dorothy (Wells) Duffy.  She was raised and received her education in Riceville, graduating from Riceville High School in 1947.  Donna was united in marriage to Donald A. McFarlane on December 3, 1947.  They farmed in Riceville for 10 years, and then in 1957, they purchased a dairy farm in Willard.  Raising eight children, Donna went on from farming to Neillsville Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 20 years as an aide.  She later worked at the Greenwood Elementary School until her retirement.
     She was a very active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and its CCW, and helped make relief quilts with the ladies at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in Greenwood.
     She had many interests, but especially loved playing sports and games with family, and was an avid quilter and crocheter whose work went out to many.
     Donna was blessed with many friends over the years and will be greatly missed.
     She is survived by 4 daughters:  Carol (William) Franz of Colby, WI,  Barbara (Rodger) Ashbeck of Greenwood,  Kathy (Jeff) Potocnik of Trego, WI,  Donna Jaramillo of Neillsville;  3 sons:  Allen McFarlane of Neillsville, David (Pam) McFarlane of Greenwood, Larry (Bev) McFarlane of Willard;  a daughter-in-law:  Deb McFarlane of Glen Flora, WI; four sisters-in-law: Lorraine Duffy of Charles City, IA, Eileen Ball and Shirley Ball, both of Granby, MO, Bonnie McFarlane of LeRoy, MN;  one brother-in-law:  Fred Sanchez of  CA;  26 grandchildren;  41 great grandchildren;  3 great-great grandchildren;  one aunt: Juanita Duffy of Des Moines, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband, Don, on November 30, 2000;  one son,  Patrick, on March 7, 2015;  one granddaughter, Kristy Lynn Franz April 13, 2009;  3 brothers: LeRoy Duffy, Gary Duffy, Robert Duffy; and 2 sisters: Dorothy Belle Sanchez and Patricia Ruiz.
