Full Obituary

ROBERT M. LANGFELDT age, 82, of Loyal, WI, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4pm to 8pm, with a 7:30pm parish rosary service, and again on Tuesday, from 10am until time of service.
Robert Max Langfeldt was born in Town of Beaver, rural Loyal, WI, on June 27, 1932, a son of Max and Frances (Rueth) Langfeldt. The family moved to the Spokeville area for a few years before moving into Loyal in 1938. Bob was raised and received his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1951. He joined the National Guards in 1949 was activated into the U.S. Army in 1961 during the Berlin Crisis and was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA for one year. After graduating high school and when he returned to Loyal from his active service, Bob worked for his father, Max Langfeldt & Sons Construction. He was united in marriage to Darlene D. Wolfe on May 31, 1956 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. In 1971, he started his own business, Bob's Electric, and worked until 2011.
He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church Loyal, the St. Francis of Assisi Church at Pier Lake, the Loyal American Legion Post #175, the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Fatima Council #4963, the 40 et 8 Voiture, the Loyal Fire Department, the Clark County Area Veteran Council and the Loyal Historical Society.
Bob had many interests, but especially loved spending time at the cottage, being outdoors, being in high places, playing cards, antique cars, watching sports, campfires and snowmobiling. He did a lot of volunteer work, was active with the Highground, was involved with Cub Scout's from the mid-60's to the mid-70's, co-founded the Snow Angels snowmobile club in 1969 and promoted the Corn Fest including hanging the banner on main street.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Loyal; 4 children: Jeff (Laurie) Langfeldt of Plymouth, MN , Julie Langfeldt of Oconomowoc, WI, John Langfeldt of Hudson, WI, Jean Langfeldt of Chanhassen, MN; 2 grandchildren: Alex and Megan Langfeldt; 3 sisters: Lois (Tom) Wirkus of Onalaska, WI, Joann Oestreich of Loyal, WI, Bonnie Bender of Beaver Dam, WI; 4 brothers: Alan (Barb) Langfeldt of Loyal, WI, Herb (Donna) Langfeldt of Loyal, WI, Dan (Karlene) Langfeldt of Surprise, AZ, Steve (Jodi) LLangfeldt of Beaver Dam, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Helen Polasek and Diane Langfeldt in infancy.
