EARL G. CALIEBE, age 87, of Greenwood, died on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen. A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in Greenwood, on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11am, with Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, on Thursday, from 10am until time of service. Earl George Caliebe was born on January 1, 1928 in Appleton, WI, the son of George and Mabel (Benson) Caliebe. When he was a young boy, his family moved to Greenwood, where Earl was raised and received his education, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1946. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Syth on February 15, 1947 in Greenwood. Earl worked for his father for a short time, before becoming employed with Wuethrich's Creamery (Grassland Dairy Products), where he drove truck for 38 years until his retirement in the mid-1980's. After retiring, Earl kept busy raising raspberries and strawberries, which he started in 1968. He had many interests, but especially loved sports, fishing and traveling throughout the United States, Alaska, Canada, Australia, Turkey, Israel, Greece and Mexico. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Earl will be dearly missed by his wife, Shirley, of Greenwood; his children: Corrine (Jerry) Miller of Marshfield, James (Linda) Caliebe of Eau Claire, Robert Caliebe of Chicago, IL, Kurt Caliebe of Greenwood, Ann Lindner of Greenwood; 7 grandchildren: Jennifer, Eric (Carol), Jeff, David, Scott (Christina), Jana and Trevor; 4 great grandchildren: Zachary, Alex, Isaac and Nora; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law: Ralph Lindner; and 2 sisters: Grace Caliebe and Verna Grabler. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given in Earl's name.
