Full Obituary

DENNIS J. STENCEL, age 55, of Willard, WI, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Cuddie Funeral Home, in Greenwood, with Fr. Steve Brice officiating. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home, on Friday, from 12 noon until time of service.
Dennis John Stencel was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 2, 1959, a son of Alois and Margaret (Rauen) Stencel. He was raised and received his education in Milwaukee, graduating from Milwaukee Technical High School in 1977. After completing high school, Dennis went to work for Peck Meat Packing in Milwaukee. He was united in marriage on July 31, 1982 to Lenora Hafeman at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They later divorced. In 1985, he built a cabin near Willard, and continued to work at Peck Meat Packing until moving to his cabin in 1994. In the late 1990's, Dennis went to work for Grassland Dairy Products, in Greenwood. Much of his time was spent with his close friend and companion, Colleen McGovern, until her death in 2012. He was employed at Grassland Dairy Products at the time of his death.
In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, canoeing with his daughter, woodworking and tinkering.
He is survived by his children: Adam Stencel and Jessica Stencel, both of Cataract, WI; his mother: Margaret Stencel of Milwaukee; one sister: Sharlene (Jim) Uselding of Fredonia, WI; four brothers: Donald (Judy) Stencel of Milwaukee, Robert (Sue) Stencel of Denver, CO, Richard (Darlene) of St. Francis, WI, Dave (Kim) Stencel of Fairchild, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
