Full Obituary

SIGFRID E. "SIG" BORGESON, age 90, of Withee, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 13, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery in Withee, with Rev. Tom Myhre officiating. There will be a visitation held at Thorp Funeral Home, on Thursday, from 10am until noon.
Sigfrid Eskil Borgeson was born on June 24, 1923 in the Town of Hixon, rural Withee, WI, the son on Rudolph and Jenny (Borgeson) Borgeson. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Withee area, graduating from Withee High School in 1941. After completing his education, Sig purchased a milk route in 1945, which he operated for 40 years, and in 1946, took over the operation of his family farm. After selling his milk route, he continued to drive for the new owner for several years. After retiring from driving completely, he held various jobs, but mainly worked as a janitor for the Midelfort Clinic in Chippewa Falls for 20 years. He was never an idle man, always working and puttering with something. In his later years, Sig was an avid reader.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne, of Withee; two children: Sidney (Marilyn) Borgeson of Withee; Jacalyn (Tom) Reinke of Withee; four grandchildren: Mathew Borgeson, Corrie (Matt) Bottlemy, Eric (Jenny) Borgeson, David (Samantha) Borgeson; three great grandchildren: Darryn and Grayce Bottlemy, and Morgen Borgeson; one sister: Elsie (Bill) Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; one brother: Raymond (Fay) Borgeson of Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
