Linda Suzanne Bell, 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep April 1, 2014, during the early morning, and was taken too soon for sure. She mostly went by her middle name Suzanne or Susie, and was born in Harvard, Ill., the fifth child, first daughter of the late Elwood Evans and Maxine (Tallent) Evans.
She met her first husband in Hamburg, Mich., where they had three daughters, Linda Jean (Glen) Jeffreys, Hampton, Ga.; Yvonne Simmons, Shreveport, La.; and Melissia Ann Winter, Cornell. After a divorce and a couple of years on her own, she met Jim Bell, who she married June 30, 1983, in Pinckney, Mich. Susie and Jim were inseparable, they did everything together, and they planned to live out their golden years together. Unfortunately, Jim passed away, too soon as well.
Susie decided to make a change of life by moving to Wisconsin, where her youngest daughter lives. Here she finished out her life doing all she loved to do, fishing, camp fires, feeding the birds and enjoying the entire outdoors that Wisconsin had to offer. A description of what kind of person Suzanne was, had been written by her own mother, Maxine, “Susie is a very talented artist, loves floral arranging and home decorating. Her garden is full of beautiful flowers, such as herself, in which she must have inherited this from her great-great-grandmother, Martha Tallent, who such as Susie had the proverbial “green thumb.” She was a sweet and gentle natured person who had a knack for being a great mother.”
Susie was able to enjoy her life in Wisconsin with her companion Roger Hakes, who adored her and was by her side until the very end.
She is survived by her daughters; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a very dear cousin, Patty Pidd; and two brothers and two sisters, who are located across the United States.
