Full Obituary

PETER GROSSENBACHER, age 70, of Loyal, died at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield, on Thursday, October 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal, with Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiating. A private burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery prior to the service.
Peter Grossenbacher was born on February 10, 1943 in Burgorf, Switzerland, the son of Rudolf and Karoline (Zemp) Grossenbacher. He was raised in a farming family and received his education in Switzerland. Peter farmed in Switzerland until moving to Loyal in 1978. He was united in marriage to Jill Norgengren, in Viroqua, WI, on . They later divorced. He farmed with his brother, Franz, in the Town of Loyal, until the time of his death. Peter was a very giving person, always ready to help anyone in need.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had many interests, but especially loved animals, driving tractor, traveling, music and singing.
Peter will be greatly missed by his siblings: Rudolf Grossenbacher of Burgorf, Switzerland, Franz (Philomena) Grossenbacher of Loyal, Margarit (Hans) Spycher of Oberulmiz-Bern, Switzerland, Ulrich Grossenbacher of Manila, Phillipines, Verena (Willie) Steiner of Munchenbuchsee, Switzerland-Austria; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Lina Gerber and Elisabeth Steiner.
