DIANNE L. BADZINSKI, age 78, of Chetek, WI, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, September 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her dearly.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, October 9, 2026, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp.  Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate, and burial will follow in New St. Hedwig Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on October 9th from 9:30am until time of service.

     Dianne Louise Badzinski was born on October 25, 1947, the daughter of Alex S. and Lucille K. (Swienton) Badzinski.  She was raised in Thorp, WI and graduated with the close-knit high school Class of 1965.  Dianne married Louis Luzinski, Jr. and later divorced. Throughout her career, she worked for ITT Life Insurance Corporation, Law Offices of Dick Coleman, Michael Salm, Steven Anderson and Anne Knox-Bauer, and the Chippewa County Courthouse.  After retiring, Dianne enjoyed spending many happy years with her longtime companion, Lyn, going on scooter rides, spoiling their dog, traveling, and spending winters in Texas.

     Dianne found joy in simple pleasures and in bringing happiness to others. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #1408, in Eau Claire, WI, and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school activities, trying her luck at the casino, playing Farkle, organizing family and class reunions, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and knitting hats for newborn babies to donate to local hospitals.  Above all, she treasured time spent with those she loved. 

     Dianne will be deeply missed by her children: Loren (Pam) Luzinski of Menomonie, WI, and Lori (Jeff) MacDonald of Rice Lake, WI; five grandchildren: Tyler, Carter, Jaycie, Alexi and Bailey; her longtime companion, Lyn Blanchard; her siblings: Duane (Judy) Badzinski of Chippewa Falls, WI and Denise (Merlin) Lee of Withee, WI; nieces: Natasha and Shana; nephews: Brent and Shannon; great-nieces Kailey, Emmalee, Abby and Ally; Godsons: Joseph Zaremba and Victor Dombrowski; as well as other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Dennis Badzinski.

     In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Dianne’s heart and one she supported for many years.
