LOWELL L. TREFFERT, age 96, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, was born into eternal life on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, WI.
Lowell Lawrence Treffert was born on February 27, 1930 in Fond du Lac, WI, the eldest of 10 children born to the late Lawrence C. and Johanna G. (Vermeer) Treffert.  He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from August 1951 until July 1953, earning the rank of Sergeant First Class.  Following his military service, Lowell pursued his lifelong passion for trucking.  He took immense pride in his fleet of red semis, ensuring that no truck ever left the shop for a run unless it was absolutely spotless.  In a beautiful moment of discovery years later, his family found a vintage photograph on Pinterest, taken in the 1970's, capturing Lowell driving his 1966 Freightliner cabover as he departed the Pabst Brewery.
Lowell found a lasting devotion in Elizabeth "Betty" Mosher (nee: Mueller), whom he married in 1973.  Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 52 years of marriage.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Betty, of Wisconsin Rapids; his blended family of daughters and sons-in-law: Marty (Ron) Christensen of Franksville, WI, Joyce (Roger) Bortmann of Wautoma, WI, Renee (James) Blazer of Baraboo, WI, and Mary (Joe) Domanico of Neillsville, WI; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan) McDonald, Nicole (Eric) Zabler, Amanda (Eric) Christensen, James (Andrea) Spranger, Jeannie Lato (Steve Susa), Vince Domanico (Ashley Seefluth), and Alex Domanico (Brooke Marquardt); 11 cherished great-grandchildren: Taylor, Emmett, Noah, Kinsey, Nora, Brynn, Hale, Cole, Hudson, Mckenzie and Kennedy.  He is further survived by three brothers: Bob, Ron, and Gary Treffert; three sisters: Arlene Rieckoff, Audrey (Jed) Peck, and Karen (Ron) Myrland; his brother-in-law, Larry (Lisa) Mueller; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Lowell was welcomed into eternal life by his infant son; his parents; his sisters and brothers-in-law: Joan (James) Downey, Jean (Everett) Sather, and Sandy (Gary) Niesen; his sisters-in-law: Marilyn, Joanne, and Betty Treffert, and Marie "Toots" (Dick) Terry; and his parents-in-law, Herman and Elizabeth Mueller.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicole, Amanda, James, Jeannie, Vince, and Alex.
The family would like to thank the staff of Aspirus Hospice and Edgewater Haven for the exceptional care Lowell received.
