Full Obituary

     MARILYN M. “MAR” ROWE, age 90, of Greenwood, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Stoney River Assisted Living in Marshfield, WI.  Graveside services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, in Greenwood, at a later date.
     Marilyn Marie Rowe was born on June 21, 1935 in Las Vegas, NV, to Harold S. and Dorothy M. (Brown) Rowe.  She was raised in Illinois, by her mother and step father, Martin Grabelman, and received her education in LaGrange Park, IL, graduating from Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park, in 1953.  Mar attended the University of Iowa where she earned her nursing degree.  She then moved to the Chicago area where she worked as a nurse and eventually transitioned to an educator of nursing where she held her students to the highest standards.  After retiring in 2003, Marilyn moved to Greenwood where she built a home, enjoying all the wildlife, until 2020 when she moved to Marshfield and resided at Stoney River until her death.
     Marilyn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood.  She loved playing the piano, and countless games of poker with family and friends.  She could always be found with either a book or puzzle pieces in her hand.  Mar valued the company of a cat on her lap and enjoyed traveling in her younger years.
     She is survived by her Goddaughter, Jenni Mayenschein (Penny Wehrs) of Greenwood; “Family”: Rita (Norman) Mayenschein of Greenwood, Sue Brockman of Greenville, WI; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and special friend Geri Syth.
