Full Obituary

     LAWRENCE G. "HAP" WEYER, age 81, of Loyal, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, WI, on Friday, January 2, 2026.  Visitation will be held at the American Legion Hall in Loyal, WI, on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 9am until 11:30am, followed by a Time of Remembrance for Hap.  Burial will follow in the Loyal Cemetery.  Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post 175.  Pallbearers will be: TJ Parker, Bo Fravert, Chris Scheel, Derek Fravert, Michael Weyer and Kendal Schmidt.
     Lawrence George Weyer was born on October 25, 1944 in Loyal, WI, to Michael C. and Mary A. (Walter) Weyer.  He was raised on the family farm, and received his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1962.  After competing high school, Hap served in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He was united in marriage to JoAnn R. Young on August 12, 1967 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal, WI.  They built a home in 1967, southwest of Loyal, and farmed for many years, until selling the farm in 1996.  They continued to live in the home they built until the present time.  He then worked as a welder for Tom Loos, and at Nelson Muffler in Neillsville, WI until it closed.  Hap never fully retired.  You could always find him driving tractor for other farmers, or helping others any way he could.
     He was a member of the Loyal American Legion, and had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, bowling, shooting pool, playing cards, welding, and pulling tractors.
     Hap will be missed by his wife, JoAnn, of Loyal; two sons: Duane (Diane) of Mosinee, WI, Todd (Christy) of Belleville, WI; two grandchildren: Brandon Weyer and Samantha (Dan) Craft; five great-grandchildren: Sydney, Lyndsey, Colton, Malakai and Evan; nine siblings: Joan Lindner of Marshfield, WI, Shirley Lindner of Loyal, WI, Tom (Dawn) Weyer of Greenwood, WI, Rosemary Volovsek of Marshfield, WI, Pat (Gary) Rhinehart of Anchorage, AK, Chris (Jeff) Parker of Loyal, WI, Peter Weyer of Neillsville, WI, Paul (Cindy) Weyer of Loyal, WI, Mark (Nan) Weyer of Loyal, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dennis; one brother, John Weyer; one sister, Mary Ellen Volovsek; four brothers-in-law: Mike Volovsek, Dave Volovsek, Art Lindner, LaVerne "Pete" Lindner; and one sister-in-law, Andrea Weyer.
