Full Obituary

     DENISE M. MCINTIRE, age 91, of Thorp, WI, peacefully passed away in Independence, WI at her daughter Jill's home, on Sunday, November 23, 2025.  Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp.  Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Jason Aken, Bradly Eichelt, Gustav McIntire, Callahan McIntire, Jarret Jensen and Matthew Jensen.  There will be no visitation held.
     Denise Margaret Lenzen was born on April 10, 1934 in Lorain, OH, to Earl E. and Florence E. (Burns) Lenzen.  She was raised and received her education in Lorain, graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1952.  After high school, Denise work for Dr. Wilkie until her marriage to John A. McIntire, Jr. October 22, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lorain.  They began raising their family in Lorain until moving to Abbotsford, WI in 1975, where they bought a farm.  Denise went to work as a C.N.A. at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, WI.  In 1977, they purchased and moved to a farm north of Thorp, which they operated until 1986, when they sold the farm and moved into Thorp.  She continued to work at Clark County Health Care Center, where she was employed for 30 years until retiring.
     She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, children, helping others, and volunteering.
     Denise was a very active member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp, where she served in many roles.
     She will be dearly missed by her children: Christopher McIntire of Hammond, IN, James (Karla) McIntire of Colby, WI, Judy Aken of Thorp, Jill McIntire (Todd Kohnen) of Independence, WI, Michael (Sara) McIntire of Rosemont, MN, and Joseph McIntire (Bob Scheffen) of Thorp; 53 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law: Theresa McIntire of Lorain, OH, and Jane McIntire of Thorp; one son-in-law, Robert Briski, of Thorp; one sister: Noreene Rosso of Lorain, OH; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     Denise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; three sons: Martin, John and Dewey; one daughter, Anne Briski; one son-in-law, Dennis Aken; one granddaughter, Cassandra McIntire; two brothers: Raymond and Lawrence Lenzen; and two sisters: Lynette Majesky and Carol Findley.
