Full Obituary

     TROY W. VETTERKIND, age 54, of Thorp, WI, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 4, 2025.  A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, with Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of service.
     Troy William Vetterkind was born in Stanley, WI on November 20, 1970, the son of the late Lynn and Paula (Teclaw) Vetterkind.  Troy was raised in Thorp and graduated Thorp High School in 1989.  He followed in his father’s footsteps and had a decade’s long career in the trucking industry.  In the early 2000s, he left the trucking business and pursued a career as a commodities broker, working for firms at the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and ultimately, creating his own company: Vetterkind Cattle Brokerage.  Over the past two decades, he has been a source of guidance and expert advice for clients and media outlets across the country.
     In his spare time, Troy enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching the Packers and Chicago Cubs, attending music concerts and festivals, and spending time with friends and family.
     Troy is survived by his mother, Paula Paskert of Sanford, NC; his sister, Melissa Vetterkind of Sanford, NC, and his brother, Morgan (Logan) Vetterkind of Dallas, WI; nephew, Liam of Sanford, NC; uncles: Jerry (Renee) Teclaw of Thorp, WI, and Patrick Vetterkind of Dallas, WI; step-mother, Cindy Knight of Owen, WI; step-sister, Melissa Paskert of Thorp, WI and step-brother, Tony (Julie) Paskert of Thorp, WI.  He will also be greatly missed by his extended family and close friends.
     He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Donna and Malen Teclaw; paternal grandparents, Rueben and Velva Vetterkind; two uncles: Richard and James Vetterkind; stepfather, Larry Paskert; and stepbrother, Quincy Paskert.
