JENNIFER A. "JEN" LINDNER, age 52, of Greenwood, WI, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. A Celebration of Life for Jen will be held at a later date in Greenwood, WI.
Jennifer Alice Decker was born on July 1, 1973 in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Donald L. and Mary Lou H. (Stewart) Decker. She was raised and received her education in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1992. Jen then attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, WI, where she completed a course in medical transcription. She went to work as a transcriptionist for the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI. Jen was united in marriage to Ryan J. "Rugg" Lindner on June 1, 1996 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood. After 20 years at Marshfield Clinic, she changed careers and began delivering mail for the Greenwood post office as a substitute carrier. While delivering mail Jen worked part-time at Tieman Realty in Greenwood. She later was hired on as a full-time carrier and continued to work at the Greenwood Post Office until the present time.
Jen was a woman of deep faith, a devoted daughter of the Lord, and a source of love and light to everyone around her. She was the glue that held family and friends together, always planning gatherings, trips, and celebrations that became cherished lifelong memories. With her phone or camera in hand, she delighted in capturing each precious moment, especially by the ocean—her favorite place—where she found peace in the crashing waves and joy in the beauty of the sunset.
Wherever Jen went, she carried sunshine with her. Her radiant smile, soul-soothing hugs, and stress-melting back rubs brought comfort to anyone blessed enough to receive them. That sunshine spanned further than just people, she loved her pets deeply raising labs for years and opening the door to the occasional stray. Whether you were a lifelong friend or a stranger she’d just met, Jen had a way of making you feel seen, valued, and loved; like you were the very center of her world. She listened with compassion and gave advice with the wisdom of someone who carried others’ burdens as if they were her own.
Her home was always a place of welcome. Visitors could count on being greeted with open arms, a good meal, and a cold beer—or her famous Bloody Mary—served with the same warmth and care she poured into every part of her life.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Ryan, of Greenwood; her son, Decker (Megan) Lindner of Hudson, WI; her daughter, Rylan Lindner of Onalaska, WI; her siblings: Don (Jill) of Corona, CA, Randy of Eau Claire, Duane (Jodi) of Vancouver, WA, Linda (Ken) Rogers of Gainesville, GA, Kim (Kevin) Wilfert of Germantown, WI; her father and mother-in-law, Bill and Pat Lindner of Greenwood; her brothers-in-law: Todd (Traci) Lindner Loyal, WI, Chris (Wendy) Lindner of Loyal, WI, Jared Lindner of Greenwood, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ronald Decker; and her great niece, Angel Sarah Rogers.
