DONALD E. SUSA, age 69, of Spencer, WI, passed away from complications due to his diagnosis of multiple myeloma on August 24, 2025 at Marshfield Hospital in Marshfield, WI. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood, WI.  Father Emmanuel Famiyeh will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Shana Czeck, Vincent Sappenfield, Kari Susa, Jesse Susa, Matthew Ystad, and Sayre Ystad.  Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Donald Edward Susa was born on November 16, 1955 in Marshfield, WI, the son of James L. and Irene L (Herkert) Susa.  He was raised on the family farm and received his education at St. Mary’s School in Greenwood, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1973.  After high school, he started working at AgSource as a field technician serving the dairy industry in Central Wisconsin for 50 years.  He loved his job and would still be working if he could.  He also worked part time for the United States Postal Service as a mailman for eight years in Spencer and Marshfield.  He was united in marriage on June 4, 1977 to Dawn Gayle Ystad in Greenwood, WI at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.  Donald and Dawn then moved to Spencer, WI to their forever home.
Donald had many interests, but some of his favorites included going to auctions, garage sales, sport card shows, listening to sports radio stations, and watching baseball, basketball, and football games.  His favorite thing to do was watching his sons’ baseball, football, and basketball games.  It would not be uncommon for Donald and Dawn to travel six hours on a weekend to watch Mitchell’s college and men’s league baseball games or Spencer’s college football games.  They went to games throughout the Midwest and some games in Florida.
Donald’s family appreciates all of the support and assistance that medical professionals and the Multiple Myeloma Foundation have provided to Donald during his journey with having multiple myeloma.
He will be dearly missed by his wife: Dawn of Spencer, WI; two sons: Spencer (Amanda) of Weston, WI and Mitchell (Jenna) of Shoreview, MN; 2 grandchildren: Avila and Wyatt of Weston, WI; 4 brothers: Dennis of Pensacola, FL, David (Bonnie) of Kronenwetter, WI, James of Loyal, WI, and John (Sandy) of Eleva, WI; 2 brothers and a sisters-in-law: Randy (Carol) Ystad of Neillsville, WI, Russell (Mary) Ystad of Marshfield, WI, and Janis (Jerry) Ystad of Athens, WI; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents James L. and Irene L. (Herkert) Susa.
