JONATHON P. "JON" KOPCHINSKI, age 86, formerly of Mosinee, WI and Minocqua, WI, peacefully passed away at his daughter's home in Greenwood, WI on Wednesday, June 10, 2025.  His life was cut short due to a collision he was victim to on July 12, 2024 in Hazelhurst, WI, in which he never fully recovered.

     Jonathon Peter Kopchinski was born on August 21, 1938 in Mosinee, WI to Joseph and Florence V. (Martin) Kopchinski.  He was raised and received his education in Mosinee, graduating from Mosinee High School in 1956.  After high school, Jon served our country in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge.  His life revolved around hunting, taxidermy and his family; in that order.  His passion for hunting and taxidermy was unparalleled.  He dedicated his life to bringing joy to his own hunts and others, by keeping the memory of the event and memory of the creature alive for years to come.  A friend of his recently said that Jon was a mentor and a legend.  That he was.

     He will be tremendously missed by his daughter, Florence (Darin) Degenhardt; five grandchildren: Jamie, Jonathon and Devin Degenhardt, Dakota (Miguel) Wynn, and Ren Kopchinski; three great-grandchildren: Kyler, Atley and Samarra Wynn; his sister, Paula (Chet) Botwinski; his brother, Tony Kopchinski; nieces, nephews, and many other hearts he had touched along the way.
