Full Obituary

   LUCILLE A. "LUCY" GELDERNICK, age 94, of Thorp passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Turner Integrity Care in Thorp.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, May 30, 2025 at  St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp.  Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate and burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.  Visitation will be held, at the church, on Friday, from 9:30am until time of service.
   Lucille Ann Bartosiewicz was born on March 7, 1931, in the Town of Withee, rural Thorp, the daughter of Ralph and Anna (Nowatka) Bartosiewicz.  She was raised on the family farm and received her education at area schools.  She was united in marriage to Henry Lew, Sr. on June 28, 1951. Together, they farmed in the Town of Withee until 1957 when they moved to Gilman.  After Hank's passing on September 8, 1970, Lucy sold the farm and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, bartender, and cook.  Lucy later married Howard Geldernick on April 19, 1980.  He passed away on November 3, 1988.
   Lucy had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family. They meant everything to her.  She also enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music, cooking, and making pierogi.  She was a member of St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its' PCCW and was also a member of the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary. 
   Lucy is survived by her children: Pat Kowal of Lublin, WI, Dianne (Leon) Burkhardt of Thorp, WI, Lester Lew of Ladysmith, WI, Arlene (Robert) Kodl of Thorp, WI, Gary (Jeanine) Lew of Jefferson, WI, Shelli Lew of Palm Springs, CA and daughter-in-law Tammy Lew of Ladysmith, WI.  She is further survived by 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: Henry Lew, Sr. and Howard Geldernick; her son: Henry Lew, Jr.; son-in-law: John Kowal; 2 grandsons: John Miller, Jr. and Jeremy Lew; 2 great-granddaughters: Faith and Claire Lew; and 3 sisters: Marge Maier, Florence Cukla, and Adeline Sorlie. 
   Lucy's family would like to acknowledge the staff at Turner Integrity Care and the staff at St. Croix Hospice for the exceptional care given to Lucy during her stay.
