     THOMAS H. "BUTCH" BAUER, age 71, of Greenwood, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI on Monday, April 28, 2025.  Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal, with Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30am until time of service.  Burial will take place in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Hewett, WI at a later date.
     Thomas Harvey Bauer was born on May 11, 1953 in Neillsville, WI, the son of Harvey A. and Louise J. (Gall) Bauer.  He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Loyal, WI, graduating from Loyal High School in 1971.  While in high school, Butch worked at Northside Elevator in Loyal, as well as helping his father on the farm.  Later, starting his own custom combining business. He was united in marriage to Mary E. Rucker on September 4, 1992 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal.  They took over the operation of the family farm in 1994 and continued the operation of his combine business.  In 2018 he lost his combine in a fire, he then helped James Reiff with his custom combining business. 
     After retiring in 2021, Butch enjoyed sitting around the fire pit, tinkering in his shop, making maple syrup with the Amish, cutting firewood, he loved working the fields, and enjoyed camping with family and friends.
     He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Granton Tractor Club, and served as the Town of Eaton supervisor.
     Butch will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary, of Greenwood; three step children: Glenn Rucker (Sarah Mannigel) of Greenwood, Krista Rucker (Mac Gomber) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Lindsey Rucker (Marcus Gardner) of Lynn Haven, FL; three grandchildren: Sean, Mac, Kloey; two step grandchildren: Kayla and Jasmine; two step great-grandsons: Kade and Jameson; three siblings: John (Marilyn) Bauer of Loyal, Ed (Rhonda) Bauer of Greenwood, Vickie (Brian) Johnston of Greenwood; seven in-laws: Tom Lobner, Jim (Mel) Lobner, Al (Deb) Lobner, and John (Bonnie) Lobner, all of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Ron (Sandy) Lobner of Arpin, WI, Ann (Randy) Kleinschmidt of Marshfield, and Gerard Lobner of Auburndale, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Alex and Margret Lobner and his sister-in-law, Peggy Lobner.
     The family of Thomas Bauer would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who offered condolences, support and kindness during this difficult time.  We are especially grateful to Keith Martin, Pat Halpin, Ed and Rhonda Bauer, and the staff at Marshfield Medical Center, Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Palliative Care.  Your love and support has brought us great comfort.
