SEVERSON, age 90, of Owen, WI, journeyed into Eternal Life on Saturday, April 19, 2025 with her husband by her side and surrounded by love.  Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood, WI.  Rev.      Elaine Betty Worden was born to Earl Lee and Susan Lucille (Keyes) Worden on October 4, 1934.  She was born at the Owen Hospital in Owen, WI, and was called the snow-white baby by the nurses.  Elaine grew up on the family farm known as Pine Court Farms in Greenwood, WI.  She had one sibling, Gordon Worden.  As a young girl, Elaine grew up loving her cats, and her Pinto horse named Tony.  After graduating from Greenwood High School, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.  In her youth, she met the neighbor boy who became the love of her life, Douglas Severson.  They were inseparable and were united in marriage on July 1, 1962 in Wausau, WI.
After they began their life in Illinois, Douglas worked as an operating engineer and Elaine became a mother of two children, Cherri and Keith.  In 1998, Douglas retired and they returned to Wisconsin and enjoyed their time together at their cabin and on the family farm.  They were blessed with two granddaughters, Genevieve and Melissa Severson.  Melissa was very close to her grandma, and always by her side.  Melissa married Andy Vine, and together they had three great-grandchildren for Elaine.  She especially loved spending time with them.
Elaine had many interests, but especially loved her cats, always willingly welcoming a stray cat in.  She also loved he miniature donkeys and horses.  Elaine had a strong faith in God and enjoyed her gospel music.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Douglas; her daughter, Cherri (Al) Bey; her son, Keith (Dana) Severson; her granddaughters: Melissa (Andy) Vine, and Genevieve Severson; three great-grandchildren: Weston, Payson and Calvin Vine; other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gordon Worden; and her mother and father-in-law, Luella and Vern Severson.
