Full Obituary

     MARY WASYLKO, age 92, of Lublin, WI, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Aspirus Stanley Hospital in Stanley, WI.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Lublin.  Fr. Hermann Klarr will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30am until time of service.
     Mary Wasylko was born on September 14, 1932 in Lublin, WI, the daughter of Frank and Helena (Matera) Wasylko.  She was raised and received her education in the Lublin area, and graduated as the valedictorian of her class from Gilman High School in Gilman, WI.  Mary then attended Medford Normal School in Medford, WI, where she earned her teaching certificate..  Her first teaching assignment was in Hannibal, WI, where she taught for one year before moving to Milwaukee.  Mary taught in Milwaukee for a couple years before moving back to Lublin.  She then taught grades 1 through 4 in the Owen/Withee School District for many years until her retirement.  After retiring, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.
     She was a member of Holy Assumption Orthodox Church.
     Mary will be dearly missed by her sister, Dorothy Wasylko, of Lublin; nieces, nephews, other relatives, her students, and friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: John and Mike Wasylko; and two sisters: Jean Brugger and Pauline Wasylko.
