Full Obituary
KRISTINE M. RUDNICK, age 64, of Stanley, WI, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Boyd, WI. Rev. William Felix will officiate and burial will take place in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Thorp, WI at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9am until time of service.
Kristine Mary Haas was born on June 13, 1960 in Chippewa Falls, WI to David J. and Pauline F. (Kapfer) Haas. She was raised and received her education in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School in 1978. While in high school, she worked at the Thorpedo Restaurant washing dishes. After completing her education, Kris worked at the Thorp Shoe Store, and at Skogmo's. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Rodney J. Rudnick, on June 21, 1980 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Kris then worked at Pabich's Grocery Store and the bakery in Thorp, until they started having a family. She decided to be a stay-at-home mom, and raise their four sons. After the boys were older, Kris went back to work at the Express Mart in Thorp, the Super 8 Motel in Stanley, and finally at the Thorp Courier.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Boyd, and had many interests, but especially enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, quilting, crocheting, and was known as the "Bun Lady", making them for all kinds of occasions.
Kris will be dearly missed by her husband, Rod, of Stanley; her four sons: Justin of Minneapolis, MN, David (Tiffany) of Bloomer, WI, Nathan of Cadott, WI, Jonathan (Desi) of Thorp, WI; nine grandchildren: Alivia, Brixley, Lee, Lucas, Haleigh, Bentley, Elliott, Emma and Finley; six siblings: Steve (Kim) Haas of Elk Mound, WI, Phillip (Cory) Haas of Thorp, WI, Brenda (Bill) Henke of Thorp, WI, Darrel (Sue) Haas of Chippewa Falls, WI, Gary (Carey) of Thorp, WI, Marie (Rob) Karaba of Thorp, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
