Full Obituary

     KAREN M. SACHS, age 80, of Thorp, WI, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Rolling Meadows of Strum.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanley, WI.  Rev. Kenneth Schmidt will officiate, and burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service, with an American Legion Auxiliary service at 10:45 a.m.
     Karen Margaret Brown was born on September 30, 1944 in Stoughton, WI, the daughter of Norman E. and Helen M. (Staley) Brown.  As a child, her family moved to the Milton, WI area where she attended Vickerman country school.  She was united in marriage to Paul L. Nasseth on May 20, 1973 in Waukesha, WI.  Paul later passed away on July 15, 1985.  She moved to Marshfield, WI in 1995 and was united in marriage to Jackie E. Sachs on May 22, 2000 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield.  They resided in Thorp where she worked at McDonalds and other fast-food restaurants in the area.
     She was a lifetime member of the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanley.
     Karen had many interests, but was very, very proud of her Norwegian heritage.
     She is survived by her husband, Jackie, of Thorp; six siblings: Norma Botma of Elkhorn, WI, Michael (Susan) Brown of Evansville, WI, Jerry (Laurie) Brown of Pulaski, WI, Brian (Mary Lou) Brown of Hillpoint, WI, Jeanne Brown and Jacqueline Brown, both of Dodgeville, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
     Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Wally (Ruth) Brown; her sister, Pamela Brown; brother-in-law, Eaba Botma; and her beloved cat, Sara.
