Full Obituary

On November 25, 2024, Lyndell Ferris Blaney was called home to heaven and welcomed into his loving Savior’s arms.  Lyndell was born on May 29, 1953 in Neillsville, WI to Lewis R. and Lydia E. (Schoenherr) Blaney.  He would be baptized as a child of God and later confirmed at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI.  Lyndell graduated from Tremper High School in Kenosha, WI in 1971, where he played football all four years winning a state championship, as well as playing saxophone in the junior high and high school band.  After graduating from high school, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and later returned to Kenosha where he attended UW-Parkside.  He then worked for a local lumber company in Kenosha, and for a time he lived in Hawaii.  Lyndell eventually settled and lived in Denver, CO at Monarch Manor.
Lyndell had many interests, but especially enjoyed phone calls and correspondence from family, reading, daily walks, cars and racing, especially the Indianapolis 500, traveling in his younger years where he went by ship and visited Sweden and Denmark, and he closely followed football games.  Lyndell had many friends at Monarch Manor in Denver, and was known at “Captain.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Larry and Lon Blaney.
Lyndell is survived by one sister, Lisa (Paul) Ibisch, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials gifts may be donated in Lyndell's name to Monarch Manor, 555 E. 11th Avenue, Denver, CO 80203.
