Lawrence Victor Lampsa was born on November 10, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Edward and Esther (Perren) Lampsa.  He was raised in the town of Genesee, WI, and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1950.  Larry joined the United States Navy and served as an aviation mechanic in the Korean War aboard the USS Oriskany and the USS Boxer.  He met his future wife, Carol M. Swattler, in Milwaukee, and they were united in marriage on February 27, 1960, in Waukesha, WI.  Larry graduated with a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, in 1966, and continued to work in the education field for over 25 years.  He started as a 5th-grade teacher and ended his educational career as the Superintendent of Loyal School District.  After his educational career, he drove semis and retired from a long working career at Smith Feed in Loyal.
Larry had many interests, but especially loved spending time with family, gardening, playing poker, sheepshead, bowling, and golf.  For many years, he created the messages displayed outside of the Loyal United Methodist Church.
He will be dearly missed by his three sons: David (Lesli) of Wausau, Brian (Carla) of Downers Grove, IL, Jeff (Amber) of New Berlin; five grandchildren: Bethany (Ryan) Cody, Mathew, Christopher, Maggie, and Sarah Lampsa; one great-grandchild, Reed Cody; one sister: Jacqueline Van Willigen (John) of Lexington, KY; one brother: Edward Lampsa of Palmyra, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
