LAWRENCE E. "LARRY" DELONG, age 77, of Thorp, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Aspirus Stanley Hospital in Stanley, WI.  There will be no services held.

     Lawrence Edward DeLong was born on May 11, 1947 in Highland Park, IL.  Larry was raised and received his education in rural Clark County, WI, and graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1965.  He was enlisted into the U.S. Air Force on December 1, 1966.  Larry was united in marriage to Barbara J. Bangle on August 12, 1967 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, WI.  He served his country until his honorable discharge on February 23, 1971.  After his honorable discharge, they moved to Owen, WI and Larry worked for various businesses in Owen.  In 1983, they moved to Thorp and he began working for Clark Electric in Greenwood, WI.  Larry later became employed at Fort McCoy where he trained troops for combat.

     He had many interests, but what he enjoyed most of all was deer hunting.

     Larry is survived by three daughters: Michelle (Rich) Mercer of Thorp, Monica (Mike) Gulcynski of Stanley, and Karen Dobson of Eau Claire; three grandchildren: Maria Gulcynski, Steven Dobson, and Nolan Dobson; other relatives, and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents.
