Frederick J. Krahn Sr. the son of Lester Krahn Sr. and Virginia (Ries) Krahn was born in Hillsburg, Wisconsin on October 17, 1938 and departed this life at Mercy Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri on October 11, 2023 at the age of 84.
Fred was united in marriage to Florence C. Hefter on January 25, 1960. To this union 7 children were born: Mary Jo Krahn, Michelle Krahn, Martha (Krahn) Hoffman, Fred Krahn Jr, Anna (Krahn) Vint, Bernadette (Krahn) Frane and Mildred (Krahn) Larson.
Fred grew up in the Hillsburg, Wisconsin area and attended Hillsburg School. He held many jobs including Culigan, Dietsler Distributing, Farming, Milk Hauling and a Carpentry Business. Fred was a skilled woodworker and everything from toys to cabinets along with various other items the community wanted. He enjoyed his family, friends, card playing, gardening and woodworking. Fred was loved and appreciated by many neighbors and community members for his talents, mentorship, and welcoming nature.
Preceding him in death was his father Lester Krahn Sr., mother Virginia (Ries) Krahn, sister Emily (Krahn) Montag, brothers Lester Krahn Jr. and Richard Krahn.
Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years Florence, his children Mary Jo Krahn of Marshfield, WI; Michelle Krahn of Owen, WI; Martha Hoffman (Thomas) of Curtis, WI; Fred Krahn (Connie) of Loyal, WI; Anna Vint (Robert) of Amsterdam, OH; Bernadette Frane (John) of Stanley, WI; Millie Larson (Donald) of Greenwood, WI. Fred is also survived by two sisters Barbara Kiefer (Ed) and Shirley Peters (Herb) and a whole host of 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Fred will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends.
