Catherine Jean Habhegger was born on October 7, 1930 in Marshfield, WI, to John and Anna M. (Zuege) Habhegger.  She grew up on the family farm, and received her education in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1948.  Catherine was united in marriage to LaVerne H. Kronberger on September 1, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.  Later that month they moved to Corning, CA, only to move back to Guttenberg, IA in November and open a Gamble’s Hardware Store.  In 1950, they moved to Highland, WI where they operated another Gamble’s Hardware Store until 1953.  They bought a farm and moved to Greenwood in 1953 and began farming.  In 1973, they sold the farm and moved to Loyal.  Catherine then began working for Bud Smith and Smith Feeds.  She later went to tech school and took courses in computers and bookkeeping.  After completing her schooling, Catherine worked at Figi's in Marshfield for a few years, and then at Barr's Animal Foods for several years before retiring.
She had many interests, but especially loved farm life and the cattle, and her flowers.
Catherine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Adult Fellowship.
She is survived by one son, Robert Kronberger, of Greenwood; one great-nephew, Derek Miner of Stevens Point; cousins and friends.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LaVerne on June 1, 2011; one sister, Lois Worchel; one niece, and two nephews.
