JOHN C. LINSTER, age 85, of Loyal, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center, In Marshfield, WI, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.  A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal, with Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiating.  A private burial will be held at a later date at Marie Louise Chapel Hill Cemetery in Christie, WI.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 9am until time of service.
John Charles Linster was born on October 4, 1937 in Greenwood, WI, to Alphonse and Mabel (Keller) Linster.  He was raised on the family farm north of Christie, WI, received his education at Mound School, and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1955.  After high school, John farmed with his parents, and drove truck for Alfred Boon.  He was united in marriage to Phyllis J. Ellison on October 8, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.  They soon purchased his family farm, where they lived and raised their family until selling the farm until 1985.  John and Phyllis moved to Loyal, and he drove truck for S.F. Transport until retiring in 2002.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed camping with his family and friends, watching his grandchildren's sporting and school events, and loved watching cartoons.  John and Phyllis were avid Packer fans and were season ticket holders for the past 30 years.
John will be dearly missed by his wife, Phyllis, of Loyal; his two children: Jane (Dennis) Miller of Granton, WI, and Daniel Linster (Sandy Belk) of Marshfield; three grandchildren: Sydney and Paul Miller, and Thomas Linster; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Allen.
There will be a Celebration of John's Life at the American Legion, in Loyal, from noon until 3 o'clock.
