     EVELYN A. LEWANDOWSKI, age 91, of Stanley, WI, formerly of Thorp, WI, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Stanley.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp.  Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate, and burial will follow in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Chad Hauser, Brady Bielecki, Chad Ketterhagen, Craig Lewandowski, Ryan Klovas, and Kendall Lisiecki.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Tuesday, from 9am until time of service.
     Evelyn A. Boehm was born on January 22, 1931 in the Town of Cassel, rural Marathon County, WI, the daughter of John H. and Pauline (Meixner) Boehm.  She was raised on the family farm, attended Sacred Heart grade school, and graduated from Edgar High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad.  After completing her education, Evelyn worked at Thorp Finance Corporation in Wausau, and later at Thorp Finance in Thorp.  She was united in marriage to John W. Lewandowski on October 12, 1952 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Town of Cassel, rural Marathon County, WI.  They began their married life living in Lublin, WI before moving to Thorp.  In 1959, they purchased a farm in the Town of Withee, where she farmed with her husband, and worked as a clerk for Mattes Livestock for 32 years.  They retired from farming in 2007 and moved into Thorp.  Evelyn continued to reside in Thorp until entering Country Terrace Assisted Living in June 2021.
     She had many interests, but especially enjoyed bowling in the weekly women's league and the Saturday Ma & Pa league, spending time at the casino, playing softball in her younger years, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities, and playing cards.
     Evelyn was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and its PCCW.
     She is survived by three children: Thomas Lewandowski of Cadott, WI, Lynn (Ron) Klovas of Thorp, Shari (Val) Lisiecki of Marshfield; son-in-law: Duane Ketterhagen of Stanley; eight grandchildren: Mandy Hauser, Craig Lewandowski, Kari Bielecki, Ryan Klovas, Kendall Lisiecki, Kristy, Chad and Katie Ketterhagen; 11 great-grandchildren: Gracie, Charlie, Raeleigh, Delany, Jorja, Brayden, Haylee, Boyd, Kylie, Collin, and Connor; one sister: Loretta Stanton of Wausau; two brothers: Clarence (Mary Ann) Boehm of Cumberland, Ervin (Clarice) Boehm of Wausau; one brother-in-law: Charles Lang, Sr. of Wausau; one sister-in-law: JoAnne Boehm of Edgar; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, on November 28, 2009; one daughter, Janet M. Ketterhagen, on March 6, 1998; one sister, Rose Lang; one brother, Lawrence Boehm; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Nowak; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Stanton and Leonard Nowak.
     The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Country Terrace Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice, and New Horizon Community Care for the wonderful care Evelyn received over the years.
     In lieu of flowers, Evelyn's family asks that memorials be directed to Thorp Catholic School, 411 E. School Street, Thorp, WI 54771.
