Arvin Lewis Gade was born on September 26, 1929 in Loganville, WI, the son of Paul W. and Esther M. (Schultz) Gade.  He was raised on the family farm, received his education in the Loganville area, and graduated from Lime Ridge High School in 1947.  After high school, he farmed with his dad until entering the U.S. Army on December 8, 1952, where he served as a medic.  After his honorable discharge on November 22, 1954, Arvin returned home and continued farming with his dad.  He was united in marriage to Lorna M.      He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and a member of the Greenwood American Legion for 61 years.
