WILLIAM J. SUSA, age 61, of Glen Flora, WI, formerly of Greenwood, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, WI on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held Monday October 25th from 11am to 2pm at the American Legion in Greenwood WI.
William James Susa was born on September 25, 1960 in Marshfield, the son of Giles B. Sr. and Marie C. (Hoffman) Susa. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High school in 1978. After high school, Bill worked at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point, WI before moving to Superior, WI where he was employed at Lakehead Pipeline. He was united in marriage to Sandra S. Volovsek on May 2, 1981 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior. Bill worked various jobs and then moved back to Greenwood in 1983 and bought a dairy farm. He owned and operated his dairy farm until 2003. After dairy farming, they lived in Missouri, North Dakota and Minnesota, before returning to Wisconsin and settling on a hobby farm in Glen Flora, and working as a salesman at Happy Trails Equipment in Rice Lake, WI.
He had many interests, but especially loved family time, sports, especially football, his animals, and the annual fishing trip to South Dakota.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandy, of Glen Flora; his children: Jacqueline M. (Mike) Ponder of Jackson, MO, Jill A. (Jeremy) Seifert of New Ulm, MN, Benjamin W. (Mindy) Susa of Hayward, WI, Kelly B. Susa of New Prague, MN, Wyatt W. Susa of Glen Flora; four grandchildren: Kinleigh Ponder, Lucas and Logan Susa, McCoy Seifert; his siblings: Michael (Kristen) of Pacific, MO; Gerald (Yvonne) of Greenwood; Lee (Mary) of Wisconsin Rapids; Giles Jr. (Linda) of Greenwood; Richard of Marshfield; Catherine Susa of Columbia, MO; Jane (David) Braun of Greenwood, Daniel (Tammy) of Greenwood; Timothy of Greenwood; Patrick (Lisa) of Greenwood; step mother Shirley Susa of Marshfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Peter William Susa on April 22, 1983; and one granddaughter: Hayleigh Sue Ponder on April 2, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to help offset expenses. Donations can be sent to the Bill Susa Memorial Account at Royal Credit Union.
