Heaven gains another Angel.
 
     JUDITH A. ROSSMAN, age 75, of Thorp, WI, passed away peacefully November 15, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, in La Crosse, after a struggle with COVID-19.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
     Judith Ann Greathouse was born to Robert and Polly Ann (Cotts) Greathouse on November 15, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI.  She graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1964.  She also attended Chippewa Valley Technical College.
     Judy later moved to Stanley, WI, where she met Harvey Rossman at the Harmony House in Stanley.  They were united in marriage on September 26, 1970 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp, WI.  They moved to the Town of Reseburg, rural Thorp, where they resided until her death.  They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September.
     She worked for Charlie Senn Law Offices early on, The Thorp Finance Corporation, and then decided her lifelong love was waitressing, interacting with people.  Judy waitressed about 40 plus years at numerous places - a couple of restaurants in Milwaukee, The Harmony House, Badger Cafe, The Silver Dollar (through numerous owners), Alberta Mae’s, Brewster’s, and Abby Care.
     Judy had many interests, but especially enjoyed cooking and baking, she could put together a meal and a good desert quicker than anyone.  She loved a good card game, whether it was cribbage, 65 or something else, reading, and loved finding a bargain at garage sales & resale shops.  Judy really enjoyed going to the casino, she was usually lucky, and she was a Casino Bus Trip Coordinator for several years.
     She was the announcer for the Circle T Horse Club during their shows.  She was also a member of the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary.
     More than activities, Judy most loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was a wonderful wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandma, great grandma, friend, and will be dearly missed.  Judy was known for her unconditional love, and was a strong, brave, bad ass woman (as her grandchildren said) who would pick you up when you were down, know the right thing to say, & passed out her life lessons.  She was a tough cookie who broke off a piece of that cookie and gave it to whoever needed a piece.  She taught her grandchildren to stand up for themselves and to hold onto who you truly are.  Judy was an inspiration, treated friends like family, making others laugh and feel better.  We loved her dearly.
     Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bryan “Gus” P. Rossman; aunts, uncles, and sisters & brothers-in-law.
     She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Harvey; her siblings: Shirley (Ron) Lewis of New Glaris, WI, Byron Lindman of Yuma, AZ, Myron Lindman of Menomonie, WI, Roxie (Michael) Klatt of Eau Claire, Jean (John) Jarocki of Eau Claire, Barbara Neal of Arpin, WI, and Scott Greathouse; her 5 grandchildren: Kendra Froseth, Jessica (Al) Simm, Katie Froseth (Jerald Olson), Bryttany Rossman (Riley Cobb), and Tye Rossman; 6 great grandchildren: Audrina Rossman, Archer Simm, Kayana Karpe, Kadyn Olson, Mia Cobb, and Palmer Schiller; very close nephew: Dave (Tammy) Wilson; very close cousin: Betty Ann Fitzwilliams  (Dave King); sister-in-law Linda Taft (Jerry Steffens); brother-in-law: Jerome (Becky) Rossman; and many other loving nephews, nieces, aunts, other relatives and friends.
     May she rest in peace.
