MYRTLE M. KOCHERER, age 88, of Thorp, WI, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in La Crosse, WI. Funeral services will be held at a later date at the Eidsvold Cemetery, rural Thorp.
Myrtle Mae White was born on February 18, 1932 in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Emery and Dorothy (Manier) White. She was raised in the Eidsvold area and received her education at Eidsvold area schools. Myrtle was united in marriage to Clarence B. Kocherer on June 12, 1948 in Neillsville, WI. After their marriage, they moved to South St. Paul, MN and lived there for many years until Clarence's retirement. After retiring, they moved to rural Thorp, and resided there until Clarence's death on July 21, 1977. After Clarence's passing, Myrtle moved to a home on North Boardman Street in Thorp, where she resided until her death.
She had many hobbies, but especially enjoyed raising her 8 children, going for walks, cooking, baking and gardening.
She is survived by 6 children: Dale (Merly) of Cornell, WI, Roger of Chetek, WI, Daryle of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Roxanne (David) Kahan of Lublin, WI, Gordy (Kim) of Thorp, WI, Amy Kocherer of Gilman, WI; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 10 siblings: Ruby Edington of Random Lake, WI, Debra Weinfurtner of Marshfield, WI, Judy Schmidt of Marshfield, WI, Janet Pahl of Stanley, WI, Alice Radtke of Stanley, WI, Russell White of Greenwood, WI, Fred (Ada) White of Chetek, WI, Joan Wallin of South St. Paul, MN, Edward (Bev) White of Thorp, WI, Patsy Wojt of Gilman, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; 2 sons: Galen and Rodney Kocherer; and 2 brothers: Robert and Donald White.
