Full Obituary
Martin Earl McIntire was first-born to his loving parents, John and Denise (nee Lenzen) McIntire on September 27, 1956.
Marty’s life was simple, he was a man who loved church, family (by blood or by need), and the land.
His trucking job took him over 2 million miles across these 48 states he loved dearly (without a single ticket!!). Marty and Theresa never ventured far from home unless to Wisconsin, their second home.
Marty could always be found in Church often racing with his brothers to serve Mass. He grew up (as did many of us) under the tutelage of Fr. John Kline (heaven.) Fr. Kline’s guidance took him from his youth to his 60’s. Marty remained faithful serving mass until the day he left to serve at the heavenly banquet prepared by Christ.
Marty and Theresa loved children. Never blessed with their own, they created blessings for neighborhood children making sure there was a celebration of birthdays, special occasions, and little pick me up parties for each child. The elderly, who had no one, had their love, too. Of his seven brothers, he had the most godchildren - four in all. Their love for children included all children especially unborn.
In 1975, his parents Denise and John, found changes happening in city life to be potentially harmful for a large family, so they moved them to a dairy farm in Abbotsford, WI. ”City-life to cow-life” was a bigger move than from Ohio to Wisconsin. Marty dreamt of winning a lottery to build a square mile farm. Allergies extinguished that dream.
His love for the land never waned when he left the farm. He and his best friend, Kenny Edwards would spend hours, days, weeks at a time fishing and hunting. They caught and cleaned most everything that was legal and shared it on the table with everyone.
His life-long love for Theresa began long before the move to Wisconsin. He would leave the farm to wed his high school sweetheart. A love that grew each day as it was shared with everyone. In his last days, he would be separated from her by his hospital stay in ICU without visitors due Covid restrictions. An acute illness led to organ failure. Despite the stellar efforts of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mercy Hospital in Lorain, OH, he became unresponsive and waited on life-support for Theresa. 16 days he waited for the one who was at his side for nearly 40 years. Theresa came into his room and announced, “Marty I’m here, and its Theresa Marty.” He opened his eyes for the first time in days, looked at her then closed them for the last time. The monitor showed a fast rhythm then showed his heart stopped. His noticeable struggle of gasping for each breath gave way to a wave of peace flowing down his body.
His mother Denise said, “This is a moment of great rejoicing because a life of love lived for Jesus will be a life filled with eternal love.”
Marty you’re there, we’re here, keep praying for us until we are all there. Love you always! All of us!
