Dorothy Violet Stowe was born on February 18, 1922 in the Town of Beaver, rural Unity, the daughter of John B. and Marian (Geisler) Stowe. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Oak Grove School. Bushman on November 17, 1945 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. Dorothy farmed with her husband, Al, and raised their family on a farm south of Greenwood until retiring in 1979, at which time they moved into Greenwood. During their retirement, they enjoyed traveling with friends and camping.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society, and the Clark County Homemakers.
