MARCIA A. PAWLAK, age 79, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Ascension Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, WI on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate, and burial of cremains will follow in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 9:30am until time of service.
Marcia Ann Frizzell was born on November 14, 1939 in Boston, MA, the only child of William V. and Marion H. (Ellis) Frizzell. She was raised and received her education in Brighton, a neighborhood of Boston, graduating from Brighton High School in 1957. After completing high school, Marcia worked at a local bank until her marriage to Thomas J. Pawlak on June 21, 1964. They resided in the Boston area, where she was a homemaker and stay at home mom. In 1969, they moved to Thorp and raised their family. Marcia enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant program through Chippewa Valley Technical College, where she took classes at Victory Memorial Hospital and completed her training on October 23, 1978.
She worked as a C.N.A.at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp for a few years and then worked at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen, for more than 20 years, retiring in 2005. Marcia resided in Thorp until the time of her death.
She had many interests, but especially loved going to church, bible study, reading, going to lunch with her friends, and watching home & garden shows on TV.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Tom, of Thorp; 3 children: Barbara Wild of Tomahawk, WI, Thomas Jr. (Jennifer) of Boyd, Todd of Thorp; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Tiffany Marie Wild, on October 10, 2001.
