Mr. Stevens taught us to make music, and making music has brought joy to me and my family for every one of the 50 years since I grew up and left Thorp. Band is a team sport, and Mr. Stevens and Thorp band prepared us for so many roles of our lives: playing our “instruments” well (being a good spouse/partner, doing a good job at work, being a good member of our community), being on the same page; making something beautiful together. Thank you, Ken and Bev, for all the good work you did for us kids from Thorp. We are lucky to have known you.

I enjoyed working with Ken Stevens at Thorp High School. He was a dedicated teacher and an excellent band instructor.

I was in band for 6 years with Ken. He was a great instructor and person. Although I haven’t seen him for years…I’m sad to hear of his passing but I’m sure he and Bev are happy to be together again. 🙏🏼💕

Mr Steven’s was the best! He definitely had the best pep band and half time foot ball game entertainment show there ever was. Rest in peace Mr. Steven’s.

I have many fond memories of playing in the school band, from junior high through high school. Thank you, Mr. Stevens, for the gift of music appreciation. You were a large part of my life growing up in Thorp.
