Condolences to the Family of Darrell L. Laschen

David Kroll Tulsa, IK – Posted On: October 10, 2023

Darrell was a dear friend thru our high school years and then beyond. I will always cherish all the fun things we did together whether it was working at Howard Johnson, fishing at Wind Lake for northerns, playing "corkball," being team mates on the Pulaski football and baseball teams, playing cards, or just hanging out with our other friends. And with every experience it was his incredible sense of humor that I will always remember. He will be missed, but never be forgotten.

Coach Laschen was the best coach I've ever know. He made us better wrestlers, a better team and, most importantly, better MEN. I thank God for the time I had learning from him. I ran into him in the Medford Post Office a few years ago and had the opportunity to tell him how much I appreciated my years under his tutelage... I think it was the only time I ever saw coach seem embarrassed.

The Loyal community is a better place thanks to Mr. Laschen. He made a positive impact on so many people. During my high school years, I witnessed his success as the wrestling and softball coach. He leaves behind a special legacy at LHS.
Gone but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.

Mary,
I'm so very sorry to hear of Darrell's passing. I remember him fondly from Loyal. My favorite memory was when he pulled two kittens from his coat pockets to show me!
Holding you in my heart at this time.

Dear Mary and family,
It is with a sad heart I'm writing this message.
You and Darrell were incredible friends to not only our father, but to our extended family as well.
Dad truly knew Darrell was his best friend. From their fishing stories to all athletics, they were connected beyond words and deeds. Thank you again for all of your kindness you bestowed upon our family. RIP Coach Laschen.
Sincerely,
Amy
