Condolences to the Family of John J. "Jack" Bertz

Sybil Basombrio Posted On: July 29, 2022

I am so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was a big man with a heart to match. He did so many nice things in his life. I wonder if anyone knows that when we were teaching, he cared for one of our weak puppies, carrying him inside his shirt all afternoon to keep him warm and next to him. Although I'm sure there are many other stories out there about Jack that will live on, his children are his best legacy. Gus and I had them all as students--Rhonda, Mona, Ranee, Shawn, Rolanda. They were a wonderful group and a credit to their parents. Jack will most certainly live on through them. It to them and his whole family that I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy.

My deepest condolences to the family….
I will always fondly remember the ‘mountain of the man’
Insisting he was going to put me over his knee and spank me, even on my wedding day! 😊
His hearty laugh was infectious and his love for his family remarkable.
RIP Uncle Jack ❤️
Love, Kelly
