When I remember Paul, I think of many great memories going way back to Grade school at Saint Anthonys. All of us were very close friends. I think of people like Gary Lato, Ken Walters, Tim Zettler, Joe Auman, Chris Weis, Lon Gardner, Randy Ostriech, Roy Rueth who we played with daily for years and were great friends.
Paul was always very smart in school and always one of the first guys picked when we broke into sports teams. He was a very good athlete. I think of playing softball during recess and going to church every morning before school. Of being an alter boy, first communion, and being brought up in the Catholic church and school the right way. Dixie continued being very sharp in Junior High in school and a top athelete. He was very fast runner and good running back. Also was a strong baseball player and was catcher. Paul was very outgoing and new everyone in school. Always loved his music and loved to laugh and have fun. I remember watching Batman after grade school at his house. I remember his yellow Huffy bicyle that he kept perfectly clean. I remember his old TX Polaris snow mobile that always needed a shot of Either to get started. I remember four wheeling with his brother Pats black blazer where should not have been. I remember his house full of brothers and parents who deeply cared about him and the kidding and banter that took place when visited his house.
Midway through Highschool, around the time his cousin came to live with him for the summer, Paul starting going in a little different direction and has been fighting issues most of his life with his health and well being.
Sincere condolences to Pauls family who have gone through so much and have given so much over the years. Just a heart breaker that things could not have gone different concerning Paulie. He was so smart and gifted.
