Jean (Mrs Winger) was my 5th grade teacher. I will always remember this year of school as I broke my leg that fall at school (sneaking in a quick game of tackle football during recess, not allowed to play tackle football but don't tell 5th grade boys that!). For the next two months I was in a body cast at home in a hospital bed. Jean would come out to our farm every Friday to give me the next week of lessons and collect my homework from that week, talk about going above and beyond! I will always remember her as a very kind and generous person, excellent teacher. My condolences to her family, I will always appreciate teachers with that level of commitment in our formative years.
